This strategic document contains a series of recommendations, guidelines and technical, economic and environmental considerations to support the sector in European countries/regions towards the successful design and implementation of a take-back scheme. The document was written starting from knowledge already acquired in some European countries and taking into account how future legislation will evolve and influence the extension of the producer responsibility (EPR).

The document, prepared by FLA with the support of partners and external experts, contains an introduction about the vision behind the idea of a take-back scheme for furniture sector, and the goals it is intended to achieve with its implementation.

It is structured in chapters analyzing all the components of the value chain (both within the companies and in the productive and social ecosystem), with indications about their role and suggestions on how they could contribute in an active way to the implementation of the take-back scheme.

The final chapter is dedicated to the regulatory framework at EU level (including EPR, DPP, Ecodesign regulation) and to the incentives available to implement the strategy.
