The report contains the main evidence emerged from the massive questionnaire distributed across Europe from April to July 2024.

The aim of the survey was to collect relevant data about the circular transition of the furniture industry at EU level; it was developed taking into consideration all the existing surveys already developed by EFIC members.

Designed with an innovative approach, the questionnaire allowed the Consortium to assess the level of integration of sustainability topics within European companies.

The core of the survey revolves around 4 macro areas:

1.      Monitoring the development of circular economy in the company

2.      Product information

3.      Sustainability management

4.      Sustainability legislation awareness

The maturity scale for each question ranges from zero awareness of the topic to full integration into the business process, with monitoring of results and communication to stakeholders.

The current state was examined in comparison to three years ago, as well as projections for 2027, to identify trends, potential investments, and remaining issues.

The survey was released in English and contained a semi-automatic translation into the following 10 languages: Italian, Spanish, French, Bulgarian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovenian, and German.

109 responses were collected by companies in 12 European countries, very heterogenous in regard of their size (micro, small, medium and large).
